There is a heavy amount of work behind the scenes to have the Bay of Fundy International Marathon run again in 2025. The new committee is in need of volunteers to make this happen. Many hands make for light work. As this event in the past has been a joy for both communities in Lubec and Campobello, if you are interested in joining the team, please reach out and we can forward your info to the group to get your hands busy.

An excerpt from Eleanor Roosevelt's "My Day," October 31st. 1944:

"NEW YORK, Monday—I reached New York City yesterday afternoon in time to visit my cousin, Mrs. Henry Parish, after having supper with a young family who were much more interested in a pumpkin face, and the way the candle burned inside it, than they were in eating supper!

Halloween is one of the times which I think children enjoy very much. All the work which goes into hollowing out the pumpkin, and making the face, somehow makes the finished product very satisfactory. Children love to put all the lights out in the room and, night after night, enjoy the pumpkin and the eerieness that shines out from within..."

The ladies of the Beacon of Hope are having a Thanksgiving Pie Sale at the Campobello Gift House on Friday afternoon. Friday, October 11th from 12:30 to 3:30pm! Come and get your homemade pies and treats for this weekends events... or just to have. ;)
