The Whiteshell Provincial Park is about a 1.5-hour drive east of Winnipeg and is an absolute favourite destination for Winnipeg residents seeking to get away from the city's heat and spend some time by the lake. Mountains, lake, valleys, woods, and streams characterize the Canadian Shield landscape. The park is home to moose, deer, black bears, and other animals. Cottages dot the lakeshores, but most of the wildness remains undisturbed.

Manitoba is also nicknamed as ‘Keystone State’ it is located in western Canada. The slogan of the province in the Latin phrase is "Gloriosus et liber", in English it means "glorious and free" This sentence is included on the Manitoba Coat of Arms and is derived from one of the lines in the Canadian national anthem.
