BECOME A FRIEND OF THE GAMES?

FRIENDS OF THE GAMES FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES
WPFG are looking for local businesses to be Friends of the Games. We expect 20,000 athletes and family members to join us in Winnipeg July 28 - August 6, 2023. Unlike other multi-sport events, these guests will be staying in hotels and will be responsible for their own meals and entertainment.

We will be providing each accredited guest, and all 3,000 volunteers, with a list of local restaurants, entertainment venues, and attractions to help them get the most out of their stay in Winnipeg.

Being a Friend of the Games is simple. We will provide the following:

Advertising materials such as window decals;

Friends of the Games directory on our website and in the athletes handbook;

Highlight our Friends on our Instagram Highlights and Facebook albums;

Will like and share Friends of the Games social media posts that tag the World Police and Fire Games.

Local organizations who wish to be a Friend of the Games will pay a fee of $300 and offer a discount or promotion for accredited visitors. If you are interested, please register your organization below.

This is the continuation of the Fundraising campaign that we had 3 weeks ago in which we were able to raise almost $4K. We had started Medical missions and Relief operations to certain areas in Cagayan. Since our kababayan needs us so bad. We continue to collect donations in kind and we'll send it once we have enough boxes to ship to our headquarters of packing facility in the Philippines, headed by Isabel Sunrise Trading Corp. (Geno Espidol, Kat&Dindo Ladera).

PROVINCE OF MANITOBA BEGINS SCHEDULING COVID-19 IMMUNIZATION APPOINTMENTS FOR ELIGIBLE HEALTH CARE WORKERS

First Immunization Clinic to Protect Health Care Workers to Tentatively Open Wednesday: Pallister, (MB Govt Website)

The government of Manitoba has announced that they are now taking bookings for Covid-19 appointments to start protecting the first line of priority. Health care providers has been informed about this announcement and have been instructed on how to book by phone.

According to the Manitoba Government, To protect health care workers and the stability of our health care system, the Manitoba government has identified the first priority population group that will receive the COVID-19 vaccine and will start booking appointments today”Premier Brian Pallister announced.

“By protecting Manitoba’s health care workers, we are helping to protect our entire health care system and the patients they care for,” said Pallister. “Based on the recommendations of our vaccine implementation task force, we have identified which health care workers should be the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and effectively begin an unprecedented immunization campaign. We know it will take time for every Manitoban to be immunized, but we are ready to make that happen as quickly and safely as possible.”

The Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine is scheduled to arrive next week and once it safe and set properly here in Manitoba, the government will begin immunozation to Eligible health care providers.

As recommended by Manitoba’s vaccine implementation task force, the first priority group to receive COVID-19 immunizations will be health care workers whose work involves direct contact with patients and who meet one of these other criteria:
• work in critical care units, born on or before Dec. 31, 1970;
• work in acute care facilities, born on or before Dec. 31, 1960;
• work in long term care facilities, born on or before Dec. 31, 1960; or
• be assigned to COVID-19 immunization clinics.(Manitoba Website)

This priority group is larger than the 900 doses that will initially be available to Manitoba. Appointments will be booked in the order of calls received. Additional dates will be added to immunize this priority group as soon as possible, based on the next deliveries of vaccine.(Manitoba Website)

Beginning today, eligible health care workers can book an appointment to be immunized, at a clinic starting as early as Wednesday, Dec. 16. When they call, health care workers will be booked an appointment for their second dose of the vaccine and will receive an automated reminder by text. (MB website)
