Starting September 4th, Air Canada is updating their check-in policy to streamline the customer’s travel experience. The check-in cutoff time will now be 60 minutes across all sectors.

Standardizing check-in cutoff time is Air Canada's latest step to elevate the travel experience for all customers. Frequent fliers will be pleased, because it means upgrades will be processed 15 minutes earlier.

New entry requirements for dogs on all WestJet Transborder flights

Starting August 1, 2024, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will introduce new entry regulations for dogs into the U.S. based on whether they have been in a rabies high-risk country in the past six months. These new requirements are for all dogs travelling on flights to and from the U.S. and include pets in the cabin, animals in the hold and service animals.

Free Wine/Beer, Snacks Coming to Air Canada Domestic/U.S. Flights -

Air Canada says economy passengers on all its flights can now enjoy free premium snacks. It’s also expanding its free wine and beer program (and $5 spirits) to flights within Canada and to the U.S.

Air Canada’s expanded offerings will provide free snacks for passengers heading to the Caribbean and Mexico. But they’ll still have to pay for alcoholic drinks.

Air Canada Tel Aviv Flights Paused Until August 2024

Due to the most recent developments in the Middle East, Air Canada is pausing operations to and from Tel Aviv until August 5, 2024. The next flight from Toronto is now scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2024, and the next flight from Montreal is now scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2024.

New seating assignment process for Air Canada Standard or Basic Fares.

Effective April 24, when traveler's begin the check-in process, a seat will automatically be assigned free of charge.

• Automatic seat assignment: When traveler's enter the check-in flow, Air Canada's system will automatically assign a seat free of charge for those who have not purchased a seat in advance. Traveler's with Tier Status benefits are not impacted by this new process.

• Flexibility to choose: If you wish to change your automatically assigned seat, they can easily do so for a fee. This option gives traveler's the freedom to select the seat that best suits their needs.

• Transparent pricing: There are no surprises or hidden fees. Any costs associated with changing their automatically assigned seat will be clearly visible during the seat selection process, ensuring traveler's have all the information they need to make the best decision for their trip. Should the traveler choose not to proceed with changing their seat, they can simply continue the check-in process or choose reset seat and it will revert to the original automatically assigned seat

United Airlines plans to resume direct flights between Winnipeg and both Denver and Chicago, re-establishing routes the U.S. airline cancelled after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

United will resume daily, year-round service between the cities on May 23.
