The Chavarria family is proud to invite you to visit The Bellbird Hotel, located in Cerro Plano and also right next to the Monteverde community. Our small and friendly family hotel offers one of the best spots to watch amazing sunsets overlooking the Nicoya Peninsula. There are great views of the very top of the cloud forest in Monteverde as well as magnificent views of the canopy on the Pacific Slope.

A few local families founded Cerro Plano, and ours is one of them. Our small rural community is where the Original Canopy Tour, The Butterfly Garden, the Santuario Ecológico, Martin Horsebackriding Tours, and the Art House are. These attractions, several excellent restaurants, a supermarket, a bank, a bakery, and an ATM are also in Cerro Plano within walking distance from our hotel. The town of Santa Elena is about 1 kilometer down the road from us.

The Monteverde Community, founded on April 19th, 1951 by Quakers from Fairhope, Alabama, is right next to our property. The Monteverde Waterfall, Tramonti Restaurant, The Bat Jungle, The Chocolate Tour, Stella’s Bakery & Steak House, CASEM, Whole Foods, Bajo del Tigre Trails, Curi Cancha Wildlife Reserve and the Monteverde Cheese Factory and many of their main attractions are also within walking distance from our hotel.
