Her love and passion for all the good things the Island of Enchantment has to offer is reflected, besides in the many interviews she gave on international radio and tv, in two books : ¡Música, maestra! (Totemboek, the Netherlands, July 2009) and her recent bundle of short stories "Poco a poco" (Totemboek, the Netherlands, July 2016). But also in her CD, " Tributo de Tambor y Trombón en Clave de Mujer Boricua" ( Coquí Promotions, June 2013) a tribute to the grandes dames of Puerto Rican music, arranged and produced by Eric Figueroa, which is on #9 on the Top 20 Best Albums of the year 2013 of Puerto Rico". She played with The Cubop City Big Band (the Netherlands); Ronald Snijders Extended Band (Surinam); Elías Lopés, Plena Libre, Eddie Santiago (Puerto Rico); the Festival di Tumba, Jazz Festival, (Curaçao), the Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra (France/ United Kingdom/ the Netherlands) and the Glenn Miller Orchestra ( the Netherlands/Germany) and many more. May performed with her own band at the Teatro Francisco Arriví, Ventana al Jazz Fest- Condado, Long Weekend Jazz Fest- Humacao and Paseo de Letras- Old San Juan,Puero Rico, and national Radio 4 "O***m" the Netherlands. She gave workshops and lectures in the Caribbean, the United States, Europe and South Africa. As a writer May was a correspondent for www.caribemagazine.nl representing Puerto Rico and Curaçao, as well as a reviewer for the Antillean Newspaper. She is a certified tourist guide that of the Puerto Rico Tourist Company . And a translator Spanish, Dutch for the Papiamento Methode of dr Marta Dijkhoff, Curaçao, where May lives at the moment.

On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean only last Wednesday, working with the 'Maaskapel'- Wessem. What a special experience, adding a Caribbean twist to the music I grew up with on native ground in the Netherlands. These amateurs surprised me during this workshop, improvising and playing for the first time in their life a son montuno/cha cha!

The trio of the Amsel Polka arranged by May Peters and played after one hour rehearsel by the Maas Kapel, who never played nor improvised Latin music before.

Puerto Rico werd gisteravond tijdens een campagneavond van Trump "een drijvend eiland van afval" genoemd door komiek Tony Hinchcliffe.May Peters is trombonist en schrijver en komt al 30 jaar op het eiland. Inmiddels beschouwt ze het als haar tweede vaderland.

As a matter of fact, it breaks my heart.... tears in my eyes, feeling a nausea about this propaganda in the most facist, xenophobic way. What hurts me the most is that their are so many Americans in the audience who are open to feed them selves with this garbidge. Exactly ......you use the words and understand the words what you are....

De Amerikaanse komiek Tony Hinchcliffe moest het publiek opwarmen voor de speech van presidentskandidaat Donald Trump. De grappen van Hinchcliffe werden goed ontvangen door Trumpaanhangers, maar leidden daarbuiten tot kritiek.

Helping out a local music institute: Cultuur Perron for some time. So much fun to teach in my own language and children of native ground. This girl had the original of the Andrew Sisters ' Bei mir bist du schein' on her stand. I played it and said:" You hear the difference? It's not written there...." etc. Ending with:" You can't write swing on paper." She responded:" Oh, yes. S..W..I..N..G... " I bursted out...🤣
