Behind the scenes of how we recorded backalley street fighting sequences for our upcoming VR game The Vortex Cinema using durable suits by that are able to take a punch (lots of them) and still record top quality motion data. Shout out to the fighters Fabian Spuck and Caue Reinbach for slugging it out so that we could get the best animations and for letting us use their sports room!

We are pleased to announce that #moritzführmann will be playing Rex Snyder, hard-boiled detective and gumshoe extraordinaire in our time travelling, genre bending VR game codenamed VORTEX. We’ve been working hard on this one for several years and it’s going to be our best VR game yet. We scanned Moritz in our in-house facial scanner, using #realitycapture to scan facial blendshapes, (special thanks to #volucap for supporting us with cams ) then the data was brought into #iClone in order to capture realtime facial animation using an iPhone fixed to a DIY mocap helmet.
