THE TINGLER - Kid Congo Powers signature pedal

The legendary The Gun Club, The Cramps and The Bad Seeds guitar player is joining the cast of Reuss signature pedal artists with his The Tingler.
It’s a two-in-one pedal featuring the circuits of two Reuss pedals which has been a stable part of Kid Congo’s pedalboard for years; the Backslide Overdrive and the Goo Goo Fuzz.
The Backslide is a clone of the vintage 80s Tokai Overdrive Mr. Powers used in The Gun Club, and The Goo Goo Fuzz is a clone of the Univox Superfuzz which played a prominent part in his work with The Cramps.
The two effects stacks amazingly well, and the Tingler is a great and versatile little combo. You don’t need much more to take the stage. Kid Congo Powers certainly doesn’t.
The Tingler is a limited edition of 100 numbered handcrafted pedals, made in the European Union. The pedals ships in August, and they are available to preorder now at the Reuss webshop.

HERE IT IS
After one year in research and development and two months of road testing, I am thrilled to present to you, the Reuss Understate pedal. The King of Subtle. Our take on the ultimate always-on pedal. Kind of out of category, this is basically a subtle and musical optical compressor with a side chain filter and a saturation circuit post-compression. It is tuned to enhance sparkle and warmth, and it will add presence and density to your clean tones. The side chain filter makes it possible to make the compressor insensitive to picking attack and transients, making it a very natural and subtle effect. Turn if off, and THEN you hear it - and immediately wish to put it on again. Suddenly, your clean tone sounds boring and lifeless without the Understate on. If it all gets too much, despite the subtleties, there’s a clean blend control to water the effect out, and a strong output stage to make the pedal act as a very capable booster too. This is a completely new and original Reuss circuit design. The pedals are hand crafted in the European Union in tiny batches. The first 20 pedals are in stock and available for immediate shipment. It’s the big restock week! 71 freshly handmade pedals, covering nine different models, was added to the warehouse this week. I had a lot of pending preorders for sold out models like the Plasmatron and Repeater Fuzz (on blow-out sale), which are all fulfilled now. Unfortunately, this means stock is low again, but there’s still a few left on the shelves for immediate shipment. Get them while you can. Happy !

The pedal is based on a meticulous analysis of the sounds and circuits of the Swedish cult band's original vintage Gibson Maestro FZ-1A and FZ-1S pedals.

The first ever demo of the Reuss 'The Utilitarian' pedal is out now at YouTube.

The Utilitarian is the exact same pedal inside as the Reuss Swiss Army Knife. It's just in a different enclosure. The story is, the first batch of the Swiss Army Knifes were horribly misprinted, and we tried to sandblast them for a refinish. The refinishing did not look good, but the raw, sandblasted enclosures looked and felt pretty great. So that became The Utilitarian - and the Double Standard Distortion pedals.

We have completed a handful of pre-production Plasmatron pedals, and here is a snippet of me attempting to demonstrate the MIX control. This is a key feature of the pedal, allowing you to freely mix and balance the Opamp BM circuit with the Fabtone circuit. Here I am going from pure BM to pure Fabtone. Stuart Braithwaite found his sweet spot at 'a quarter past', and there's definitely some going on there :-)
