The 22nd edition of the Cairo International Cinema and Arts Festival for Children, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, will be held at the Cairo Opera House between March 20th and 27th, 2015. The 22nd edition inaugurates an international new platform for children’s cinema and arts in pursuit of sustaining interactivity between artists, as well as, promotes valuable and prosperous produc
tion for children up to the age of 14. The 22nd edition of the festival pays special attention to orphans and children with special needs. This edition will organize for the first time “The Talentizer” competition for singing and music playing. Further, the festival will include a market in addition to long and short feature and documentary films, as well as, animated films. Moreover, the festival will feature workshops, performances, and screenings. The festival’s official competitions will include long and short feature and documentary films, as well as, animated films. The jury committees will feature renowned artists and critics in their respective fields in addition to children between the ages of 10 and 14 who have artistic interests. Talents among school students and foreign communities in Egypt between the ages of 6 and 14 are invited to participate in our singing and music playing competition of which finalists will have the opportunity to perform during the festival. Several workshops will be organized throughout the festival for attending children in the fields of crafts, drawing, photography, design, and much more. Further, a number of seminars will be held throughout the festival pertaining to children’s issues. The festival will, also, feature a special screening program and open air activities. The 22nd edition of the Cairo International Cinema and Arts Festival for Children is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth, the Supreme Council of Culture, the Cultural Development Fund, the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector, the State Information Service, and the embassies of the participating states, and in cooperation with the National Center for Children’s Culture, the Higher Institute for Cinema, the National Cinema Center, UNICEF, ASIFA, YPEER.
