The sun will shine directly on Ramses II's face at his great temple in Abu Simbel, Aswan, tomorrow.❤️
Egypt will witness one of the most significant astronomical phenomena tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22nd: the sun's rays will directly align with the face of Ramses II inside his grand temple at Abu Simbel, Aswan.
Carved into a solid rock face on the west bank of the Nile, the Abu Simbel temple is the world's largest rock-cut temple, a marvel of ancient architecture and engineering. Its purpose and location were dedicated to sun worship.
The alignment of the sun with Ramses II's face is a unique Pharaonic phenomenon that the ancient Egyptians achieved thousands of years ago.
Twice a year, on February 22nd and October 22nd, the sun's rays pe*****te the 200-meter-long front corridor of Ramses II's temple, reaching the sanctuary. The sanctuary houses a platform with a seated statue of Ramses II, flanked by statues of the gods Ra-Horakhty, Amun, and Ptah.

The Grand Egyptian Museum has officially opened for a trial phase! 🏛️ Visitors can now explore 12 new exhibition halls showcasing 24,000 artifacts across 6 acres. These exhibits highlight Egypt's rich history, from the Pre-Dynastic Era to the Greco-Roman Period, focusing on key themes like royalty, society, and beliefs.

During this trial phase, the museum will welcome up to 4,000 visitors per day to ensure it's ready for the grand opening, which will be announced soon! 🌟

Stay tuned for updates on the highly anticipated Tutankhamun Gallery, set to feature 5,390 unique artifacts when the museum opens fully!
