El Gouna (Egyptian Arabic: الجونة el-Gūna pronounced [elˈɡuːnæ], "the Lagoon") is a tourist resort, developed and owned by Sawiris' Family, Samih Sawiris and Orascom Hotels and Development, dating from about 1990. It is part of the Red Sea Riviera.
