The Tale of Maat
Is a story deeply rooted in ancient Egyptian mythology.
Maat represents the concept of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice. In Egyptian mythology, it's said that during the weighing of the heart ceremony in the afterlife, the heart of the deceased was weighed against the feather of Maat.
If the heart was lighter than the feather, it meant the individual had lived a righteous life and could proceed to the afterlife. If the heart was heavier, it symbolized a life filled with wrongdoing & the heart would be devoured by Ammit, a monstrous creature. This tale underscores the importance of living a life in harmony with Maat's principles.
