Good morning .
Today marks the day that our beloved father , gedo , the champ the commodore the captain and the inspiration of the Sun n fun left us
You might not know a lot of things about him
But to many people he was a great man
To some he was a legend
Achieved a lot in his life
Went through a lot
He was a true champion
With a real competitive spirit
He was admired by many sport’s champions
He even beat the Greek world champ in dragon class in Alexandria ( 1970 )
He was also a navy officer with an important role in the modern history
By following the orders to block Suez Canal ( 1967 )
His book ( egypt for yachtsmen) remains till the day the only Egyptian detailed guide .
His contribution as an international jury for sailing
Took many many years
Till he became the longest ever sailing jury
Who headed so many regattas
Both inside and outside the country
As for tourism he helped in starting the local yacht trips by being the first to transfer
Alexandria built boats to both Hurgada &sharm
Long before modern navigational aids ( GPS)
When this trip was considered as an risky adventure
Then he took the step of taking his sons to a rough desert place called sharm to start a pioneer Watersports company in a place where it was only for divers
He then participated in so many boat shows promoting both his country & his passion for Watersports
He lived a remarkable life
May allah bless his soul
