Ideal for breaks and longer stays. 3 Pools, restaurants, supermarkets, bars and beach just steps away. Calpe Mar y Sol
Once you have decided you want to stay, what do you do next? Getting here
Calpe is easily reached flying in to Alicante Airport. I recommend you use Beniconnect, which costs €20 per person each way. A taxi is about €90 each way. Staying at Calpe Mar y Sol apartment in the Voramar
complex
Voramar is a beautifully positioned apartment block and my apartment has one of the very best views, especially of the spectacular morning sunrise. Calpe is predominately a place where Spaniards come to stay. You will find people courteous and friendly. Many Spaniards reside at the Voramar and its feisty residents association ensure it is immaculately maintained. Expect to make friends here, and to return again and again. Sunbathing and swimming
The Voramar is on the beach with no roads to cross. It has three very well maintained swimming pools for different ages and is code-gated, so you can rest and swim peacefully. Temperatures
In the Summer period June - September, Calpe is consistently hot, with a much appreciated sea breeze in the evening. In the Autumn and winter the weather is warm (around 70F/21C) and perfect for a restful break. Calpe Mar ySol is available for Christmas and New Year breaks and is perfect for Valentine's Day. Local amenities
The Voramar is metres away from a mile long beach stretch which includes a range of bars, restaurant and coffee shops. Supermarkets
There are five supermarkets within walking distance, open seven days a week, ranging from a 'corner store' to some really impressive delicatessen style 'Mercat' superstores. Promenade
Before lunch and in the evening as the sun sets, you can join local residents and tourists on a promenade on Calp's highly prized tiled walkway, adjoining the beach. Heading in to town
The town of Calp is a kilometre walk away, along the tiled beach path. The views are stunning (as is the evening sun) and this is completely pram and wheelchair friendly. The local council
To their credit, the local council takes it's guests seriously and jealously protects it's various walks (including the amazing environment walk around the Ifach Rock). The town is basically spotless, it's fountains always work and the civic amenities are impressive. Calp Tourist Information
I provide information and advice on what to see and how to get the best out of your stay. But there are two fully staffed Tourist Info Centres to help if you get stuck! The Voramar also has a concierge during the day. Bus service
Buses to nearby towns stop within 300 metres of Calpe Mar y Sol and there is a regular shuttle service into the Old Town and railway, right outside the Voromar complex. The apartment
The apartment is on the third floor, with two brand new lifts (designed for disabled access). The balcony view is amazing. The apartment includes two good sized double bedrooms. Room one comes with double bed. Room two with two singles. The living room includes a foldout double sofa, so if you are pushed, the apartment can take multiples of two, four and six people. Expect to find a modern and stylish kitchen with everything you need to cook, and even to entertain. There is a new washing machine and two fridges. The impressive living room includes a table for six and fully retractable patio doors to the balcony, which also has a table for six for your meals. Excellent wifi is included throughout the apartment. Bath and beach towels are all supplied as is bed linen. And there's more:
Within a short walk you will find hairdressers and barbers, nail bars, dentist, a doctor and (I hope you don't need it), a hospital. For the adventurous
Within a hundred metres expect to find a Scuba diving school, pedal and paddle board hire and just across the road is a full-on marina with boat and fishing hire. You can also hire bikes and scooters. All that remains
