This is one of the favorite voted looks of the kaftan jackets collection - paired with baggy jeans and a crop top and gold accessories. This piece has happily landed in Istanbul with its new owner and ready for more adventures. 🇧🇩 🇪🇸 🇩🇪 🇹🇷

True story, I had to send a photo of these jeans to some friends as a reality check. I'm still Team Skinny Jeans, but have been reaching for these 80's style jeans lately. Sometimes I need another opinion to make sure I haven't gone too far 😂😎 They approved 🤍

Thoughts in these jeans? I love these long kaftan jackets with a loose jean, gives it a kind of relaxed look and nice silhouette.

☕ Taking a moment to share about this cool concept shop in. Amsterdam we visited last month (or the month before? We're losing track of time...) is a concept shop on Javastraat - cool street filled with Middle Eastern shops and restaurants (my fave!). They're part café, part clothing store with stylish local fashion and accessories.

I ordered my usual, oat milk flat white and also opted for a ginger beet juice (trying to load some health into my body as I helped a my friend move apartments down the street).

🪡 Being in places like this is so inspiring - seeing creative entrepreneurs and their concepts come to life gives me an extra kick to keep going myself. And I love to see the diversity in ideas - we can all build off of that and continue this creative cycle, inspiring and supporting each other along the way.

We shot these pieces at dusk on Montjuic in Barcelona, a late start in the day.

We packed our motorcycle with these unique, gorgeous textiles and scouted good spots for these images. A race against the sun and we got some good images that capture the beauty of each piece. I'm excited to finally share them with you!

Easing into September //

⚡ We love transitions here - marking the end and beginning of something, a space for change, adaptation: a metamorphosis.

▪️As we ease into September, we kiss goodbye the warm, sunny summer - a few months where we can relax, enjoy the outdoors, and explore a bit outside of work. At this gentle summer closing, a more serious tone chimes into the day as we begin to mount the Autumn "To do's" and “Let’s get back to work” mindset.

▪️This change in temperature and in pace marks a moment of transition and, in these moments, it’s good to reflect back on the experiences and how they changed us.

▪️For me, with what stands out, I realize the joy in the small things: a different type of connection, nature, and stillness.

▫️As you ease into September and the fall days to come, what changes have you marked in this transition and what memories will you carry with you?

From where I sit, an infinite amount of tiny experiences contribute to this perspective, this world view, and the memories I take with me.

I can visit the past, be present, and have a glance at the future all from this one spot.

And in this collective of experiences, I may choose what I want to remember and how, curating the world around me.

Flat whites at La Cala, a beachy outpost in Barceloneta serving up coffee, healthy bowls and surfer tunes on a laid back patio.

After SUP yoga was canceled due to high winds in Barcelona, plans changed to an açaí bowl and flat white. Not a bad change in plans 💜

Often when traveling, I keep my plans loose to accommodate and leave room for the spontaneous. How many times have I stumbled upon cool things simply before my original plans fell through and is had to adapt.

Some of the most memorable experiences are from original plans not working out and how we adapt.

Over the weekend, I took a lazy stroll around town after my morning yoga session. I happened upon the Kunsthalle bookstore (art museum) and found some cool art books - one on fonts and graphic design and this one, on fashion illustration over the years.

Today I'm perusing these pages and getting inspiration over an oat milk flat white with some Chet Baker playing in the background. A lovely, art filled and creative moment. Check the stories for more of my favorite sketches.

Give me quality espresso, an eclectic playlist, and a thoughtfully designed space.

One of my favorite things to do is explore through cafés - either for doing work or to simply observe from behind a flat white. Each has a unique design and type of clientele, you can hop from world to world just in the space of a coffee shop.

Going to undergrad at UW, many of my days were spent at coffee shops around campus, rotating various places depending on my mood. Café Royale was one of my roosts - a steady flow of vanilla lattes, good music by cute, amateur barista-DJ-liberal arts majors, and the comraderie of fellow students with a lot of reading to do as I poured over my Greek & Latin texts (Classics major), acutely aware of this special moment in my life.

☕ NYC
on Mercer bc they'd be bumping to '90/2000's R&B while students poured over giant textbooks and the sound of the steamer would compete with sudden bursts of laughter. A funny juxtaposition. I'd be esconded away in some corner, creating a private space in a city of 8 million.

Fair Folks & a Goat - a coffee membership afforded me unlimited cappuccinos for $40 a month in this design studio/concept shop - I loved it. Every morning I'd walk here from my Sullivan St. apartment on my 25 minute journey to the office up Fifth, iced latte in tow and not feeling so guilty about spending most my paycheck on rent since I was being "sensible" with my coffee budget.

☕ Barcelona
Cosmo Cafe, cafe slash art studio with monthly installations and good dirty chai lattes. It was a second home during business school, a slightly more productive location since it's wifi-free and cell service inside is terrible, just the art to distract us.

- pictured above. When I'm back in Barcelona, Alex and I are here every day. Sometimes to knock through a bit of work, sometimes to just get out of the apartment. These guys are serious about coffee with a roaster in the back, creating their own blends. Good beans, cool interior and eclectic music. Checks all the boxes.

Today is my birthday and I always reserve this day as a retrospective to think back on the past year - what I had hoped for, experienced, learned and how I transformed; and also to think forward on the year to come - what I now hope for, what I may experience and learn and how that may transform me.

⚡ We are the sum of our collective experiences and without taking this glance at past, present and future, we often miss the small, incremental steps of how our experiences metamorph us.

⚡ For me, this year has been about coming into my own and allowing that small voice inside to be heard. It's been about confronting fears, taking risks, and deciding what my personal picture of success is and how I want to live my life, against the cacophony of societal obligations and expectations wailing outside and telling me to conform.

⚡ We each take our own path, by choice or otherwise, and this path transforms into who we are today and each day going forward. With that in mind, I can only hope and look forward to the future and all the experiences I've yet to have, knowing that I will metamorph into who I am supposed to be and learning along the way.

What do you hope for in the year to come?

There is something so enchanting about Mediterranean summer nights - lingering sun as the moon creeps to its post, soft breeze and sounds of a city slowly getting ready for an evening out, full of drinks, laughter, and a bit of mystery. And perhaps a midnight jump in the sea.
