INFO ON LANZAROTE WEDNESDAY 27TH MARCH 2024

Momo Cortes and his rock band will play a tribute to Queen this Friday in Puerto Calero from 9pm. The event is a free concert and will last approx. two hours. Momo has been touring Spain with his act for over 15 years and appeared in Playa Blanca last year.

The Performing Arts Festival are proud to present Averno, an intense, physical and emotional journey through Dance at Jameos Del Agua auditorium on Saturday 6th April at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased on the website of The Art, Culture and Tourism centres.

Jet 2 have added Bournemouth airport to provide direct flights to Lanzarote from March 2025. Tickets will go on sale in the next few days. Earlier Jet 2 announced a new base at Liverpool and flights to Lanzarote commence tomorrow.

The Tias Theatre will host a performance of the play ‘El Secreto del Parde Cito’, a story full of fun and comical musical scenes, on Friday March 15th at 8pm. Tickets are on sale costing 10 euros each.

In the First month of 2024 Lanzarote received nearly 272,000 visitors, an increase of 10.8% compared to January 2023. The Canary Islands were the main destination for Spain receiving 28% of all travellers.

House prices in the Canary Islands grew by 1.5% in February, the highest increase in Spain.

LANZAROTE NEWS HEADLINES FOR TUESDAY 13.02.24

Thousands of Masks, 26 floats and 22 groups of people made up the colourful spectacle of Arrecifes Carnival Parade last night, watched by thousands, with many spectators dressing up in fancy dress to embrace the vibe. Today it is the turn of San Bartolome. It will of course be a smaller event but many will be in attendance. It is due to start at 12 noon.

Five people were taken to Arrecife hospital last night in two ambulances following a multiple accident on the LZ2 near the Dieland Shopping Centre. The crash took place at 5.45pm, involving a few vehicles. Most of those affected were suffering with neckpain.

A hire car broke down in on of the worst possible places yesterday causing blood pressures of many other drives to rise. The incident happened shortly before 1pm when a car broke down just a few meters from the top of Femes mountain, a route that many use when leaving Playa Blanca. The steep climb made it virtually impossible to push the car up. The car could not reverse down to a popular view point because of the amount of cars that were behind it. It was eventually moved and then the hill starting skill had to come into force for all those that were behind the stricken vehicle.
