This spacious, fully re-decorated family holiday home with pool, whirlpool bath and sea view is now available! The house has a luxurious feel and offers everything you need for a relaxing family vacation.

There are three spacious bedrooms, all three with king size beds, and 2 full bathrooms. Outside is a dining area and lounge area and all bedrooms have their own patio/balcony with sea view. So a lot of different places to sit down, depending on the time of day!

This apartment offers everything you need for a short or long stay, relaxation, workation or sightseeing. We recommend a rental car, because the area is beautiful to explore!

It has a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (one with bathtub), aircon in the living room, and is completely re-furnished this summer. There is a sleeping sofa for the fifth person. Besides the beach, there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops within shirt walking distance.

Wij zijn Jan en Ursula Wolterink uit Rijssen (Nederland), 54 en 52 jaar oud en zijn in oktober 2023 geëmigreerd naar Periana, Andalusië, Zuid-Spanje. We hebben 2 zoons en 1 dochter (26, 24 + 24 jaar) die in Nederland wonen.

Tijdens onze vakanties in Andalusië werden we verliefd op de Axarquia met zijn schitterende natuur van bergen, meer en zee. Als fervent fietser miste ik (Jan) steevast het gemak om over een mountainbike te kunnen beschikken om een stuk door de ruige natuur te fietsen. Wij willen graag een huis kopen met daarbij een aantal appartementen om te verhuren. Ons idee is om dat inclusief mountainbike te doen. Het huis hebben we nog niet gevonden, maar we zijn al wel vast begonnen met de verhuur van elektrische mountainbikes. Wij werken met name samen met eigenaren van B&B’s en hotels. Het mooie van ons concept is dat wij de fietsen halen en brengen op locatie.

We genieten zelf enorm van de omgeving met de mooie dorpjes Alcaucin, Los Romanes, Riogordo en Periana. Op de elektrische fiets zijn hier prachtige tochten te maken voor iedereen, ongeacht leeftijd en fiets capaciteiten. Zelfs een mooie fietsrit aan de kust is mogelijk bij ons.

This town house offers everything you need for a short or long stay, relaxation, workation (it has super fast fiber internet!) or sightseeing. Perfect for couples, families or a small group of friends.

A (rental) car is not necessary because there is a mini-market around the corner. But, we highly recommend a car to explore this beautiful area and go to the beach! Alcaucín is on the foot of mountain La Maroma, a famous hiking area 🌳

This fully equipped family home sleeps up to 9 people (max. of 6 adults and 3 children). It has a pool with nice mountain views and is very peaceful, in a quiet urbanization. There is an outside bbq area, an indoor fire place for the colder winter months and a great kids bedroom with space theme!

🏞️ Rio Verde hike 🌳

This time a great daytrip tip just outside our beautiful Axarquía region: Rio Verde hike near Otivar, Granada.

It is an adventurous hike that can be as difficult and long as you want. The total hike takes about 6 hours and is a challenge, with quite steep parts. You can also do the hike with children. This means you won't be able to walk it completely, but even then the hike is incredibly beautiful 💚

During the hike you have to go through the water several times, climb steep rocky paths and there is a hanging bridge. There are several natural pools with crystal clear water to take a refreshing dip 💦

After the hike you can easily reach Otivar for a meal and a cup of coffee!

To get to the starting point of the hike, you first have to pass a checkpoint, after which you have to drive another 7 km on a dirt track. You pay a small entrance fee at the checkpoint.

Did you know that you can also do canyoning in the Rio Verde? For the real daredevils 🤩

It is that time again! ⏰ The clocks will “fall back” one hour at 2am on Sunday (29 October). The general idea is that this allows us all to use natural daylight better: moving the clocks forward one hour in the spring grants us more daylight during summer evenings, while moving clocks back one hour in the fall grants us more daylight during winter mornings. PLUS: in Spain we have beautiful sky’s this time of year: enjoy it 🌅🥰

🚶Hiking - Rio Velez 🦩

The Axarquía has many hiking trails, some of which go through dry rivers. Nice for walking and it has a low intensity. You best start early in the morning or late in the afternoon due to the heat. 🌞

You can start the walk at Vélez Málaga. From there it is an hour's walk to the beach, where you can have a lovely breakfast at for only a few euros! You can also start the walk a little further inland, depending on the time and distance you want to walk.

By the way; this route is also great to do by mountain bike! 🚴

Did you know that flamingos and various other water birds can even be seen at the small lake in the Rio Velez? 🦩🦆
