Every year on the eve of baptism, that is January 10th, it is celebrated in a different way. Ketara "Keter" is derived from the verb gez. The word Ketara means to restrict. On the eve of baptism, the ark leaves the temple and spends the night in an area where there is water. The water from the springs is kept to accumulate and the water is restricted from flowing.

Ketara is celebrated every year on the eve of baptism on January 10th, and followers of the Orthodox Tewahedo religion, according to the religious and traditional values ​​they brought with them from the previous fathers, go out to the place where the ark has been prepared for them, accompanied by singing in a special way. In connection with this tradition, the water is used in the Christian holy house on the 11th of January, so that the people can be baptized. This system of blocking and restricting the water on the eve of baptism is named "Ketara".
The basic origin of the Bible: Jesus Christ went to Jordan for 1 day to be baptized by Saint John the Baptist. Because of this, following Jesus Christ as a model, the idols, accompanied by the priests and the faithful, go down to the sea to be baptized while thanking God.

The Bible says, "When you see the people carrying the ark of the covenant of your God and the Levitical priests, get up from your camp and follow them." (Joshua 3÷3)
