Statement from Ethiopian Airlines
Ethiopian Airlines has noticed information circulating in the social media which shows an Ethiopian Airlines staff accessing a bag. We wish to clarify that the individual depicted in the pictures is an Ethiopian Airlines Flight Technician; and the luggage in question is indeed his own.
The area where the picture was taken is Flight Technicians toolbox office area, a place where our Flight Technicians access their Toolboxes. The other bags on the picture also belong to other Flight Technicians who are not shown in the pictures. This area is strictly for staff access and no customer belongings can be brought to the same place. Moreover, the place is under security camera surveillance and control of security personnel 24/7.
It is unfortunate that an Ethiopian Airlines employee’s activity is pictured and misused out of context. We would like to reiterate that the luggage in the photo belongs to Flight Technicians, the person in the picture is accessing his own bag, and there should not be a cause for concern.
We would like to assure our esteemed customers that Ethiopian Airlines takes maximum care for the safety of its passengers and the security of their belongings. We also would like to reaffirm that our staff members are dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer services.
