These Photos are taken in and around Sarzena Mikael Monastery outside Lalibela, which is approximately 27KM aloof from town. Sarzena Mikael is early 6th century rock hewn church from the period of the famous Axumite King, King Caleb. Sarzena Mikael is one of the earliest rock hewn churches in Ethiopia. It is the only Axumite Period Rock Hewn Church at the closest distance from Lalibela with beautiful landscape all the way to this ancient monastery.
