The Jazz festival commences today and lasts for 4 days. Lots of bands and jazz singers, including this evening the headliner Thomas Dutronc the singer and jazz manouche guitarist, - what a treat ? The town will be packed with people attending the festival and the supporting local events.

We're getting busier by the day! More guests have arrived to attend the local Musique Festival at Carhaix. Headliner act this year is Robbie Williams - yes, the man himself!! Also playing are the rock band Red Hot Chilly Peppers from USA . Is it going to rival Glastonbury this year????

We are Planning to re-open again for the summer holidays in France. Well, France is experiencing an Indian summer (again), the toadstools are growing and the rooks are eating the sweet chestnuts which are abundant this year. Our grapevine has produced 4 small bunches of grapes which are white and sweet but not enough to produce any wine this year. The bees are still active when the sun shines. The bee hives nearby are buzzing zzzzzz!

Well after nearly six weeks of dry weather and warm temperatures, its rained during the night. Glad I cut the lawn on Friday! Thought I wouldn't have to cut the laurel hedge again this year - but its started to grow again, and also the bay tree - the final spurt of the year. Never mind I get a chance to use my electric hedge trimmer again.

Our September and October season prices have now come into place. The weather is still warm so why not visit Chateauneuf du Faou and see the bananas - yes bananas - growing on the plants near the town centre. (if only I liked green ones). The grapes look quite nice growing in our garden - not enough to produce a full bottle as yet?

Weather is improving again for the weekend. It's an ideal time for us this week to catch up on jobs in the garden. Trimming the laurel hedge, cutting the grass and weeding the borders - the garden is recovering from the dry spell and plants are putting on that final spurt of growth in late summer.
