Another little Sunday afternoon project! The oversized pepper grinder from the Chateau Vert had seen better days. A quick sand, a couple of coats of Annie Sloan ‘Athenian Black’ chalk paint and a clear wax and we’ve got enough pepper to last us a year!

I love a little Sunday morning project like this!

Nico’s maternal grandparents used to own the Chateau Vert in Toulouse. We recently acquired an old mirror from the Chateau so we’ve cleaned it up, had a bit of a reshuffle of the existing paintings and mirror and hung it in our entrance hall.

The oval mirror used to below to Nico’s paternal grandparents so it’s lovely to have both mirrors in our hall. They’re not in perfect condition but I think it adds to their charm!

Our project in Cannes is complete! We’re thrilled with the result!

As the majority of the Old Grange renovation is now complete, we took on another little project this summer - a holiday home in Cannes! This one didn’t take 5 years though; The whole renovation was finished in just 10 days! It’ll be furnished next week. Follow us for part 2!

The roof and door of the pool house ‘tool shed’ extension have been fitted. Just the rendering to finish now. And we’ve added some storage, flooring, a fridge and flamingoes to the pool house!

After a 2 month delay, the sink unit has finally been delivered so we could finish the guest bathroom!

Whilst the inside of the house is getting a good spring clean, the outside of the house is getting worse!
The new travertine paving is finally being laid though! And a new drainage system is going in to stop the garden slope from flooding the pool house.

The new swimming pool form is finished. Just the liner and the new paving to complete now!

The guest bathroom has also been ripped out and plasterboarded. The bath has been replaced with an Italian shower and we’re also installing a toilet and wash basin so the guest wing is completely self-contained.

Good progress on the children’s bathroom upstairs. The old bathroom has been ripped out, all the plasterboard is finished and the new shower tray has been installed.

As work continues outside on the swimming pool, the builders are back tomorrow to finally rip out the two upstairs bathrooms! These are the last 2 rooms to complete our (nearly) 5-year renovation project!

The work on our new swimming pool has started! We are levelling the bottom to make it safer, adding a beach and new steps, changing the form, changing the colour of the liner to ’sand’ and replacing all of the paving with natural travertine stone.
