An inverted Scot
Sent down for his sins
Born in Edinburgh this
Son of whiskies and gins

London loosened its locks
Then opened its arms
And like it or not
He fell for its charms

Other cities like Bradford
Vied for his trade
Even Perth in Australia
Several bids made

"Reality! You can't let it go! You've always got to be poking or prodding at it with your pictures or poems or prose, seeing what'll happen if you just try 'this one little tweak'..."

Since I stopped 'believing' in anything, I realise my worldview is shape-shifting constantly. I seem to connect everything somehow, and love the way one thing leads to another.

I thought this shot was utterly unchronicable, then went down a rabbit hole to discover, after 50 years of incomprehension, why elderly ladies rinsed their hair blue in the '70s. I couldn't find any articles on why tall Asian fashion victims do it to their pets today, though. Maybe I should write one.

BTW, isn't it funny how we never use the word 'camera' anymore, while taking more photos than ever on our 'smartphones', which we almost never use to actually phone anyone, preferring to 'text', although the original writing implement, the 'pen', is well on its way to joining the dinosaurs...

So, reality? Don't talk to me about reality; just give me dogs with blue butts and I'll spin you some short tales.

I've been in and around Paris for over 30 years.

My creative soul was bartered to the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 of 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 & 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙬 and 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙀𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙡 became my artistic muse many moons ago. 🎨

🇫🇷 The French capital has given me a lot; maybe everything. Now it's time for me to give back and realise a persistent dream:

So many photos taken from afar of Her Highness, Lady Eiffel, it's not only redundant but almost ridiculous to publish yet another.

Yet here it is, with the key phrase being from afar. This is up close and personal. It compresses her slender curves most disrespectfully, it's almost indecent...
..and far more interesting than your average touristy tower snap. That's why I still climb her after all these years, trusty Paris Chronicles iPhone in hand, almost as ancient as M'Lady!

That said, I'm watching an item on the news where the French president is admiring Notre Dame's brand new coiffure... from above. Hope the scaffolding holds up!

The miraculous resurrection of Paris's other venerable Madame nears completion. What's the first thing they mention as we gaze out from the drone circling the sacred spire across our fair city? Lady Eiffel, from afar, pardieu!
