We are so pleased to present the new owners of Haute Epine campsite - John and Hazel!!!

While we are very sad this will be our last season, we are delighted that a lovely couple is taking over who are just as passionate about the business as we are!

John and Hazel are welcome to join us on the page in case you have any questions for them, but we are assured that the facilities will remain the same under their ownership and there will be no change in tariff for next year

Meanwhile if anyone would like to make a booking for 2024 then please contact me, lets start the ball rolling and give John and Hazel all our support over the coming years

One of our campers is wanting to sell their portable air con unit (that we are storing for them) if anyone is interested. It's in perfect condition - don't be fooled by the marks on it, it's only the adhesive left behind from manufacturers stickers

Spring has sprung, some warm weather has arrived and we've had to cut the grass 4 times. It's growing like stink!

Weather permitting the pool will be addressed this coming weekend. It's time to clean the pool and cover and start getting ready for summer

Found some new restaurants worth visiting and hoping, like elsewhere, that France after COVID is on the up!

For everyone who hasn’t visited us this year we need to tell you that we have put Haute Epine on the market in preparation for our retirement. Leaving the place and our camping friends will be gut wrenching, but we have always wanted to retire by the sea and will be moving to Cornwall to do so!

We are taking bookings for 2023 as usual as we don’t anticipate a quick sale and it’s also likely that a new owner would wish to carry on with the camping business. We will obviously keep you all informed of any developments

Meanwhile please spread the word amongst the camping fraternity……………..!

Sorry to say that although 'Moran's restaurant in St Martial is showing in the guide that they sadly never opened this year

However, the Stumble Inn is operating normally every Sunday evening and yet doesn't show in the guide for some reason! 😂

Heard the news last night. I know, we've been round the block too many times. Is it just us ? Or are the conspiracy theories correct about the UK Government trying to keep UK tourists in the UK to support a failing economy?

Providing we've not totally 'lost it', and according to 'Freedom Day' on Monday, you will be able to go clubbing in your local town. Mainland France with less than 5,000 cases a day, far lower than the UK, is a much more riskier option!

Have your handbags ready to dance round ladies!

So we are still all waiting for the news about travel restrictions, but it's looking positive and we should all know by tomorrow

We think we have everything covered here. Having your own shower room makes the washing facilities safe and we will allocate you your own sunbed for the duration of your holiday. We are however asking you to bring your own pad for your sunbed if you need one, because laundering them between every guest would be difficult.

We feel like 'Billy no-mates' here, really looking forward to your arrival!

We are so sorry that you early season campers are having to cancel. We fully understand and hope you'll come and stay with us in 2021. For everyone one else we are ready for you, keeping our fingers crossed and hoping border issues are solved very soon.

French borders should open on 15th June, but it's Boris' decree that a 2 week quarantine period will start on June 8th for anyone travelling abroad that is a problem. We are hoping that as the horse has already bolted, he might change his mind and leave the stable door open!

Meanwhile restaurants and bars open here in France tomorrow. We can travel as far as we want, but social distancing must continue.

More crucially I finally got to the hairdressers a few days ago and so hope it won't be long before you can go too. These are desperate times - I'd been hacking at my fringe and Peter had been hacking at the bottom. By then, feeling as confident as Vidal Sassoon, he offered to do my highlights too with the aid of the kitchen colander. I did decline that one!

Is it just us, or are we all becoming confused about whether anyone will be able to take a holiday outside the UK this year? We've gone from Ryanair stating EU flights will start again from early July, the UK government saying no international holidays this year and yet Macron and Boris are currently working towards opening the borders without quarantine

Whatever happens and as far as we are concerned, if you are stuck with a ferry ticket wait until (if) they cancel so you can get a refund. You don't have to cancel with us anytime soon because it changes nothing here for us
