opened its doors in the village during the winter a new creation fronted by the lovely and knowledgeable couple Julien & Marine. Since then their tapas/ bistrot style food, all made in house has been a big hit. They are also very passionate about wine and have an extensive list to suit all tastes and budgets. We joined a group of friends Thursday night at their first ( of many hopefully) food and wine pairing events which was a great success.

We are so lucky to have a great choice of dining options in the village ( less than 1 kilomètre walk) and tonight our guests are divided between L’estrade, where Anne Lawrence and Gaelle produce amazing bistrot style food from their blackboard menu, .saint.hubert our guests from New York are dining here and we have our guests from Canada - so much choice within an easy walk - why not come and try them all?

Yesterday we were treated by our long standing American guests to lunch at the recently opened restaurant in Bonnieux. Chef Julien Allano spent ten years at Clair de Plume in Grignan where he obtained a Michelin star and before that at La Miranda in Avignon. The three course ( plus lots of tasty extra surprises) lunch menu at 48€ is superb. The wine list is extensive and sensibly priced. For sure it will be on our recommended restaurant list and to ensure it meets our clients expectations a return visit will be obligatory!

Summer has arrived! A leisurely walk to Villars for lunch , passing the lavender fields that will soon be deep purple, Clément the chef and proprietor produces really tasty food, with locally sourced ingredients, starters to share, always a vegetarian main course, and yummy desserts. His team look after you impeccably and serve a wide range of wines - it’s a gem! Walking home seemed to take a little longer than going - I wonder why😂

Just outside Simiane la Rotonde is the Abbaye de Valsaintes with its gardens and superb restaurant. I have lost count of how many fabulous meals we have enjoyed there! How lucky are we? This week we treated ourselves after a busy fortnight and as usual the meal didn’t disappoint with Karen’s Maigre being a highlight and my chocolate dessert pure indulgence, accompanied by a lovely Rosé from .valsaintes

Sunday lunch at the restaurant du Jardin de l’abbaye de Valsaintes, a well balanced meal beautifully presented accompanied by the wine of Les Davids vineyards, chef Valentine has just left but the new team with chef Thomas and restaurant manager Gregory pulled of a seamless change ( the chef has been working with Valentine for over two years so knows the style well) - such a lovely unique setting, great service and ambience .valsaintes

As holiday accommodation owners yesterday we were given a tour of in Gargas , absolutely fascinating and worth visiting despite the 10 degree temperature! It included a degustation of wines from Aureto the domaine of hotel Coquillade, who then treated us to a most splendid lunch and tour of the 5 start hotel with its 69 rooms, spa and BMC cycle centre - thank you !

Our apartment in Cannes, 400 metres from the famous ‘La Croisette’ is ready to rent, air conditioned and secure underground parking will add to your relaxation and comfort , completely refurbished it has fibre optic WiFi, the large south facing terrace has space to relax and dine and overlooks the beautiful gardens with a peep of the Mediterranean - come and fall in love with Cannes - as well as the number one festival and event destination in the world there are beautiful sandy beaches, shopping for all, fine restaurants and a great vibe 365 days a year #

Six weeks since our builder started stripping out our Cannes apartment and we have turned the corner! Re plastering ✅, re wiring ✅all windows and doors replaced✅ exterior roller shutters and sun blinds replaced ✅new kitchen and bathroom being installed this week - We’ve been lucky to have found a great team and despite a few challenges all is going well so far - we hope to launch it into the rental market early in the new year - with underground parking and 400 metres from the Croisette and beaches of Cannes we are taking bookings already for 2024 and 2025! .official

We flew from Marseille to London on Wednesday flying over my beautiful mountain le Mont Ventoux covered in snow from the rain we had earlier in the week, it also reminds us of how close we are to the southern Alpes behind #

So lovely to see the windmill at the head of our village turning yesterday, it dates from between the 17th & 18th century one of four originally constructed, dressed to celebrate the passing of the Tour de France

It’s twelve years since we first watched the water go over the infinity edge of our pool, the next day it was half empty due to a leak - there were tears! Today though she is in perfect shape for our guests to enjoy with salt water and always the relaxing sound of the water running over the edge - come and experience it for your self
