Colour is a power which directly influences the soul.
Words from expressionist painter Wassily Kandinsky.
Loulou by the Ocean has plenty of powerful pops of colour, to shake up the soul & make you feel alive. Bringing colour into any interior can be daunting especially as like here in the Highlands the landscapes outside feature mainly earthy tones, loulou is not matchy matchy with the landscapes definitely she is reflective of the water, mountains, botanicals & sky. A girl on a mission to give life affirming empowerment & joy with her colour, textures & patterns. By going large on glass allowing light to flood into the open living spaces giving each colour that all important magic to make them truly shine. The Scottish Colourists, a group of 4 post impressionist painters, not universally recognised initially came to have a profound influence on Scottish contemporary art & culture. They used their training & style of the French impressionists to translate and create a vibrant bold new approach into a Scottish idiom that was just pure joy & empowerment. Kelvingrove museum and the Scottish museum of modern art Edinburgh both have fine collections of their work. This is the style & vibe in which the restoration of Loulou was founded. The living room is a strong powdered Lilac which gives a calm energy a nod to the hillsides of fragrant bold heathers, with a little funky vibe of Ocelot Farrow & Ball wallpaper. She is a strong woman, a true Highland Lass with a vibe that is utterly Caledonian Cool, now available to book with .
