The closest beach to Vale Lodge, the beautiful Minnis Bay is only a 5 minute drive away. A long, family-friendly stretch of beach, Minnis Bay is bordered by sand dunes, and has opportunities for many watersport activities. There is also free parking!

Ramsgate is a short drive or train ride from Vale Lodge, a place with a very different feel to other Thanet towns due to its vibrant working Royal Harbour - which recently celebrated its 200 year anniversary - and a nightlife scene that is less in-your-face than Margate, but worth seeking out.

If you're concerned about a static caravan being too chilly for a winter break, worry not! Vale Lodge is double glazed and centrally heated throughout, to keep you warm and toasty. (We can't help you on those winter coastal hikes though!)
