Sections of Glasgow Airport have been closed due to a police incident.
Officers were sent to the scene just after 06:00 following concern over an item in a passenger's bag.

The new route is expected to create around 40 jobs

New Easyjet flights from Manchester Airport to Spain are to take off next summer, it has been announced.

Flights to Murcia in South East Spain will launch on May 2 and operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tickets are expected to go on sale from December 7.

The new route is expected to create around 40 jobs while the addition of the 186-seat Airbus A320neo will mean easyJet will have 21 aircraft based at the airport.

The UK's worst airports for queues at security have been named.

Top of the list of long queues is Leeds Bradford airport, a survey for consumer group Which? indicated.

Passengers have been waiting an estimated average of 35 minutes at the West Yorkshire airport between February and August.

Researchers asked nearly 1,300 people who travelled from a UK airport over that period how long they queued for at security.

Fly Atlantic plans to launch a new transatlantic airline at Belfast International Airport in summer 2024.
It aims to fly to the US and Canada, British and European destinations and, once fully operational, plans to fly to 35 destinations.

A passenger plane heading for Aberdeen Airport has performed an emergency landing in Edinburgh after declaring an in-air incident.

The Loganair flight left George Best Belfast City Airport around 1.40pm this afternoon, with an Embraer 145 jet assigned for the journey.

Heathrow Airport ground staff go on strike over pay

The action will affect a range of airlines and disrupt a number of flights leaving terminals 2, 3 and 4 at Britain's busiest airport.

Ground staff at Heathrow Airport have begun a 72-hour strike, in protest at their pay.

About 350 workers started the action from 4am on Friday, according to the Unite union.

Regular Airporter user, and local man, Noel Kelly, said it is a disgrace the route will be dropped and will leave many families in the North West unable to travel to and from Belfast City Airport.

Mr Kelly said: "The company has said they want All-Ireland connectivity, but in my opinion, this is a retrograde step. People that I know use the service, including myself, are gobsmacked.

"There are a lot of people, including business people, that will be left with no means of efficient travel.
