Bad therapists are worse than no therapist. A bad therapist will victim blame by asking what you did to "attract" the narcissist into your life, or why you chose the narcissist. New-age gurus do the same.

But, you didn't attract the narcissist, but rather, the narcissist targeted and groomed you for abuse and control. You didn't choose the narcissist because you didn't know they were a narcissist, or that the narc was abusive. A good therapist will be clear that the blame rests with the narcissist.
