This cosy Platinum graded Norwegian style log cabin is situated in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, at the
Trawsfynydd Holiday Village. Dolgellau is to the south and Porthmadog to the north.
The cabin has recently been refurbished and, being one of the most generously sized two bedroom cabins on the site, it comprises of one double room and one with bunk beds. Both bedrooms have plenty of cupboard/wardrobe space, and blinds plus blackout curtains. The bunk beds are comfortably big enough for adults, and a bed guard is stored under the bed for use when smaller children are in this room. A hair-dryer is kept in the double room. All bedding and bed linen is provided, and towels/tea towels can be hired at an additional cost.
It has a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with Freeview TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is very well equipped, including four ring hob, oven, microwave and fridge.
Bathroom has a shower and heated towel rail.
There are heaters throughout the cabin.
The cabin is set on one of the largest plots on the site, with parking for two vehicles, a huge lawned area and large secure decked area with furniture for alfresco dining. The decking area gets the sun all day. Secure bike storage and bike wash facilities provided. Rotary washing line and pegs.
Trawsfyndd Holiday Village
The Holiday Village has an on-site shop selling all your basic needs and more, including alcohol, fresh meat, frozen foods, ice creams/lollies, etc., and all at very reasonable prices. There is also a launderette, children's play area, and area for 'off the lead' dog walking. Free Wi Fi is available in the reception/shop area. Most (in season) weekends a Fish & Chip van is on-site for a couple of hours early evening on Saturday and/or Sunday.
New for 2020 - from May there will be an onsite cafe with the option to eat/drink inside or out.
A two minute walk from the cabin there is a lovely enclosed area for dogs to be walked off the lead – please be mindful of others dogs in the area at the same time.
A five minute walk away is a playing field (inc goalposts and basketball hoop) and playground.

This is a perfect, central base for so much of what Snowdonia and North Wales has to offer. Whether you're visiting as a couple or a family, looking for a peaceful, relaxing break, a fun packed few days, miles of walking, or some more high octane adventures, Trawsfynydd Holiday Village is ideally located.
Trawsfynydd is within close proximity of the quaint, pretty villages of Dolgellau, Porthmadog, Barmouth, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Bala, Beddgelert, Harlech & Betws-y-Coed with lovely shops and restaurants. Slightly further afield are Aberdyfi, Llangollen, Tywyn, Llanberis, Criccieth, Pwllheli, Abersoch and Bethesda.
The Portmeirion Village created by Clough Williams-Ellis made famous by The Prisoner series is only a few miles away and is an excellent day out for all the family.
The cabin is only 2 miles from Coed y Brenin forest trail centre, which offers a large number of all-weather mountain bike trails for mountain bikers of all abilities.There are also many walking/running routes through the Forest. For the younger visitors there are three play areas plus an 'Animal Trail Puzzle'.
Other nearby mountain biking areas include the Blaenau Ffestiniog Downhill Trails, the Marin Trail, Penmachno Trail and the Mach Trails.
Zip Worlds Slate Caverns site at Blaenau Ffestiniog, featuring Titan (Europe's largest zip zone), Bounce Below and Caverns, is only a twenty minute drive away. The other two sites, Zip World Fforest and Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, are 40 and 55 minutes away, and their journeys provide some breathtaking views.
White-water Rafting is available at Canolfan Tryweryn at The National White-water Centre, whilst you can have sailing and windsurfing sessions at Bala Water Sports Centre, on Bala Lake.
Glasfryn Parc, a 40 minute drive away has plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, including go karts, Segway safari, junior quad bikes, bowling, archery, clay pigeon shooting, soft play, kayaking, wakeboarding, paddle boarding and fishing.
There are hundreds of walks from gentle strolls to high energy mountain hikes.
There's an abundance of fishing opportunities in Snowdonia, including Trawsfynedd Lake, a five minute drive away, where you can fish for wild native Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout.
There are approximately 20 golf courses in Gwynedd including: Aberdyfi, Bala, Betws-y-Coed, Dolgellau, Fairbourne Golf Club in the Mawddach Estuary, Royal St. David's below Harlech Castle and Porthmadog.
If you would like to visit Castles and Historic Places there is Harlech Castle, Criccieth Castle and Dolwyddelan Castle and small historic sites nearby Castell y Bre in the Dysnii Valley, Cymer Abbey near to Dolgellau and Dyffryn Ardudwy Burial Chambers.

The Children's Farm Park at Llanfair Slate Cavers, The Rabbit Farm in Llanystumdwy, King Arthur's Labyrinth in Corris, The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynileth, Greenwood Forest Park near to Caernarfol, Gypsy Wood Park in Bontnewydd, The Den soft play at the Electric Mountain in Llanberis, The Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay. For rainy days there's the Fun Centre in Caernarfol and more to do on Anglesey.
