So here it is my LAST day with BoltonFT ICPS Community Nursing Team as one of the lead nurses for Asthma and Allergy. I have learned and grown so much in the 26 years with the trust, 15 in community. Without the unending support of Amanda Jones, Susan Glass and Lisa McGullian for all things Asthma and Allergy, the managerial skills of Nigel and Genna, and the feet on the ground friendships of Michaela, Jill, Pippa, Anita and Alison, the wider support from Eve her reactive care team, Nat and the proactive care teams, Laura and the training team, our lovely Governance lead Mianna and Amanda and her Amazing admin team the Paeds teams and secretaries and the lovely , caretaking, security and cleaning teams at Breightmet Health centre I can safely say I am leaving with many fond and funny memories but will miss you all but for now onwards and upwards continuing my mission to improve Asthma management for the children in the Turton PCN. I'm certain our paths will cross so it's not goodbye its see ya later

During this weeks campaign we have been learning about va**ng and the effects on young people. Va**ng is not recommended for young people under 18 and anyone with a lung condition should only ever be inhaling their prescribed asthma medication.

You can find more info about va**ng at: www.nhs.uk

We have been alerted by Premier Foods that they are recalling selected Sharwood’s Balti Cooking Sauce from sale because they contain milk which is not correctly declared on the ingredients label. This issue only affects products price marked at £2.99 RRP.

The product is therefore unsuitable for and should be avoided by anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

Thank you for sharing World Asthma Day 2023 with us. Alongside our usual working day of clinics, sorting out referrals, giving asthma advice, and arranging appointments (alongside other things!) we have have a great day sharing our knowledge to people at Breightmet library, student nurses and sharing on our page.

World asthma day is the first Tues in May every year and helps to raise awareness of asthma with a different theme.
We have listened to podcasts to update our knowledge as we pride ourselves on keeping our knowledge up to date to provide the best evidence based care for the children of Bolton.

With the majority of the burden of asthma deaths occurring in low and middle income countries, the ‘Asthma care for all’ aims to promote the development and implementation of effective asthma management in all countries.

Thank you for sharing World Asthma Day with us. Until next year!

TODAY IS WORLD ASTHMA DAY
Throwback Tuesday photo!
World Asthma Day at the market place Bolton.
Today is the 25th Asthma awareness day.
The history of World Asthma Day dates back to 1998 when GINA launched its first World Asthma Awareness Day.
It was observed on the first Tuesday of June in more than 35 countries worldwide.
Later, in 2008, GINA changed the name to World Asthma Day and moved the date to the first Tuesday of May to reach a broader audience and focus on the latest advances in asthma research and treatment.
