We partner with coastal tourism businesses and destinations to understand challenges and opportunities, to help build a model for successful coastal tourism. We commission industry-focused research with direct relevance to coastal destinations to help understand the nature of coastal tourism.

About Us

The National Coastal Tourism Academy is the centre of excellence for coastal tourism – our aim is to support coastal tourism businesses and destinations to deliver economic growth and tackle seasonality. The NCTA’s work focuses on supporting industry, bridging gaps in coastal tourism research, sharing lessons learnt and best practice, undertaking development projects to make change happen and delivering leadership, vision and advocacy for the coast.

The NCTA is also currently leading the England’s Coast project. England’s Coast brings to life the wealth of experiences that can be enjoyed on the English coastline and enables visitors to create and book bespoke holidays, focused on raising awareness and generating bookings in the shoulder and off-peak periods.
