At Geojobi® we have looked at the standard job board from both angles and are now presenting a solution which looks to improve the experience as much as possible.
‘What is wrong with traditional job boards?’ you may ask. Well the truth is that they do work; yet they work on a standard key word searches and the designers’ current postcode. This relies on the designer to put the correct words on their CV whilst only sharing where they currently live rather than where they want to work. This makes it very hard for companies to search for the experience they are looking for and harder still for the candidate to specify what they excel at and enjoy. We aim to make this process easier for both the designer and the company by building relevance into the core of Geojobi® ‘How does Geojobi® provide relevance for the designer?’ In our solution the designer adds up to five locations, with commuting radius, salary and job type attached, so that they can specify exactly where they want to live and work. Then with the extra specific skillset information added there is no need for key-word searches to match. The result is that the designer will only see positions that are relevant to them.
‘How does Geojobi® provide relevance for the company?’ When the company is advertising their design position they get to specify their criteria including skill set, experience, salary etc and get to see how many designers match their requirements and want to work in their area before they pay for their advert. Then the applications they get come in a standard short yet informative format with cover letter making it easy to understand how the designers experience relates their company. Simply put they get an efficient way to cut through the noise and find designers that have the skills they want.
