It’s been a wild ride…
This year would have been the 7th edition of the Pop Up Shop at The Island, and we can't quite comprehend it but it is not open this year and Bristol Bazaar is sleeping, potentially forever.
The shop was modelled on generosity and co-operation from every single person that sold their work in it over the years; they contributed to building it, shopkeeping, promoting or taking it all down the day after New Years Eve (won't miss that bit) and so many other valuable ways.
It meant that for the over 150+ small businesses that were involved, they had not only a platform to sell their wares, but an opportunity to meet and befriend others in Bristol's creative community, and really made Christmas feel more like Christmas amongst the stress and pressure of trying to keep up with it's momentum in the small business world.
What are we gonna do without it! Well....
Our managers, Rosie and Jen, are busy with other incredible indie, arty projects all year round that we would love to invite you to:
• Winter Fairs: Christmas Makers Markets & Open Art Studios at Estate of the Arts, Bedminster-Ashton
• Prior Shop now with an incredible pop up in Quakers Friars, City Centre
We are so so so enormously grateful for The Island and Artspace Lifespace supporting us in every possible way over these years, who encouraged us to do it in the first place! The shop has been a truly valuable project to support small Bristol businesses and to provide thousands of gorgeous, beautifully made and unique gifts for visitors. We can't say Thank You enough!
Tarrah for now,
Rosie & Jen x
