There's just under 100 days left until Christmas - "oh no there isn't!" - and this week we've been in full panto mode.

Firstly, in Bristol, our UpFirst bus provided a perfect backdrop for the cast of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, featuring comedian and actor Brian Conley. It was all part of our partnership with the Bristol Hippodrome.

And just over the water in Wales, our sponsorship of the Swansea Grand Theatre's Jack and the Beanstalk, starring radio DJ and presenter Scott Mills, saw us spending a day shooting a hilarious film, which you can see later this year...watch this space! We can't reveal too much at the moment.

Grab your tickets for the shows online, and don't forget to hop on a bus when you travel to see them this Christmas and new year.

19/09/2024

We've started work this week on a Β£59m project to electrify our depots in Hengrove and Weston-super-Mare, thanks to partnerships with the West of England Combined Authority and North Somerset Council.

The project will also see 98 electric buses arrive in the West of England next year, providing customers with a comfier, quieter and smoother ride, and allowing us to provide a more reliable service and, importantly, bus travel that is even better for the environment.

Read more about the project, and see how the depots will be transformed: https://news-wew.firstbus.co.uk/news/electric-work-starts

Congratulations to metrobus driver Roger for being the first to win our monthly Love Your Driver award πŸ’• πŸŽ‰

Roger was nominated to win by several of his passengers, with one saying:

"He is always so cheerful, always says good morning, hello and goodbye and asks how people are. He is patient and kind with people with accessibility needs. I always feel safe when it is Roger driving. Everyone seems genuinely happy to see Roger!"

When being presented with the award, his manager Karen said it was the first time she'd seen him speechless!

You can nominate your favourite bus driver for the next award at firstbus.co.uk/sharethelove, and if they win, you'll get a free month's travel on us!

Fur-tunately this afternoon we have a happy tail to tell!

Thanks to a local vets in the Weston area we’ve managed to reunite our lost kitty, 8-year-old Sheba, with her owner.

This afternoon our Staff Manager Karen Nelson (purr-tured below) whiskered her back to her home in Weston.

This p***y will definitely go down in hiss-tory as one of the meowst loved at Bristol Bus Station.

While Karen and the team were feline a little sad to hand her over, we always thought it was pawsible that we’d track down her owner.

We’d like to say a massive thanks to the team in Bristol who threw some cash in the kitty to keep Sheba fed and watered while she was with us, and to all of you who got in touch to help ensure we had a pawsitive ending.

Paws what you're doing for a meow-ment. We have a p***y appeal!

Meet this purrfect little one who arrived at our Bristol Bus Station yesterday aboard our X1 service from Weston-super-Mare after being found by our driver Julia Reynolds. We think she may have fur-gotten where she was going and boarded the bus around the Backwell area.

Our team in Bristol have bought her food, provided water and gave her a home for the night to ensure she's comfortable and feline well! She is microchipped but we've been unable to find her owner, but records show she was linked to an address not too far from the Birnbeck Pier area of Weston.

And you've got to be kitten; she's clearly a clever p***y with catitude knowing that yesterday - when she was found - was litter-ly International Cat Day.

If you can get your thinking cat on and have any information about who she belongs to or if she is your little one, drop us an email: [email protected]
