Ever heard of the D’Oyly Carte family ? We hadn’t until visiting their country bolthole ‘Coleton Fishacre’ which is 5mins drive from Brixham. Brand entrepreneurs, building the Savoy Theatre and then the Savoy Hotel …. basically they were very rich ! Quite a modest seaside pad considering! Well worth a visit, stunning gardens and views, it’s National Trust with cafe and shop !

Brixham Pirate Festival 4th, 5th & 6th May

The town’s preparing for this weekend, if you’re near you should pop down - it’s a blast !

You can visit the replica of ‘Nao Victoria’, which sailed in last night, it first circumnavigated the world in 1519-1522 Ooh arr!!
