Useful information when on beaches with RNLI lifeguards

🟥🟨 swim between the flags 🟥🟨

A handy explanation of what the flags on our beaches mean from our RNLI Lifeguards:

Red and Yellow flags🟨🟥
This is the safest area in the sea. Swimmers, bodyboarders and people using inflatables should go between these flags.

Black and White flags⬛️⬜️
Surfers, kayakers, stand up paddleboarders and other non-powered craft should go between these flags. Launch and recovery zone for kitesurfers and windsurfers. Never swim or bodyboard here.

Red flag 🚩
Danger! Never go in the water in any circumstances when this flag is flying exclusively.
When flying in addition to the other flags, it can also be used to mark out where a rip current is - So never go in the water in front of a red flag!

Orange Windsock🔶
This indicates offshore or strong winds. Never use inflatables when the windsock is flying.
