Getting to be a regular around our bird feeder, this lovely sparrowhawk is a welcome addition to the variety of birds we see here. The coal t**s and long tail t**s aren't too impressed though!!

Just fabulous to be back out on the water for the first time this year. This stunning stretch of the Teifi just 15 minutes walk from the Den. Also for the first time since 2020 our high season minimum stay is now just 3 nights (weekend) or 4 nights (mid-week). Longer stays welcome too, of course.

When we saw the footage from the wildlife camera, we couldn't believe our luck ; mum feeding the baby tawny owl! Ignore the date, we forgot to change it on the camera. ☺️

So! Back to our little visitor. We were worried that he was a bit exposed but day 2 found him more protected at the other side of the fence under the big oak ( where we believe his nest is) where mum can be heard calling. We knew she was about and we didn't want to interfere so we set up a wildlife camera to see what happened next...

Another year another baby tawny Owl!!
2 years ago as now we posted a photo of a baby tawny owl who'd popped itself on our sitting room window and spent several hours dozing. Amazing! Once in a lifetime? Well a couple of day ago we found this little chap/lassie on our front lawn. Mum's nearby and had left it with food.

Just got back from the most fabulous walk along the Wales Coastal Path. March 14th and spring is almost here. We've got blue skies and sunshine, lapping waves, cavorting lambs and skylarks. A proper exit from the real world for a few hours!!

Thank you to all our fabulous guests who've made this summer so special (and busy). We keep in mind there are 1001 (at least) other places you could spend your precious time off and hard earned cash. These are some of the things you found special about the Den and were kind enough to leave a note for us to share.

Two lovely recent reviews from 'longer staying' guests. Many of our guests are now enjoying all the benefits of an 8-10 night stay. We've got one week availability left in August, 7 - 14 at last year's prices. If you can't come, perhaps one of the family or a friend could do with complete wind down and recharge. A brilliant start to the 2021 season. Despite some pretty awful weather for a couple of weeks, our lovely guests managed to get some much needed R & R.

Since the recent sunshine, the meadow is now blooming and looking fabulous.

Still at last year's prices, we've got availability all through August, 5 night minimum stay.

I've said it before, but I just love this time of year. So many meadow flowers showing themselves and the stream, well it takes my breath away every time I see it. Just finished preparing the Den for our next guests. Can't believe how lucky we are to be living here in this wonderful place in West Wales.

A small return to normality and such a joy to be preparing The Den for our first guests of the year. Everything cleaned, polished, ironed, pruned and trimmed and fine weather ordered. Check! The stream is running nicely and the birds are in fine voice. Check! We're good to go.
