This means you can cross over directly from Tintern, and enjoy a walk up to Devil’s Pulpit, amongst other stunning walks!

A beautiful day in Tintern, despite the recent downpours!
It was great to see our resident robin again too who loves to come and hangout while we're clearing leaves in the courtyard. Come and visit us this winter and you can hang out with Robin too!

So my Sansevieria on the window sill at The Old Coach House has a little flower coming!
I've not seen a Sansevieria flower before, so I'm pretty excited about this!
Such a gorgeous afternoon in Tintern today, we had a great lunch in The Anchor Inn next to Tintern Abbey , plenty of vegan options too.

For those of you who have messaged to ask (and those who haven’t 🤣)
Here’s just a smattering of things to do in Monmouthshire!
There’s castles galore here to visit, where you can explore the history, and take in some stunning views!
Chepstow castle, Raglan Castle, White Castle, Usk Castle, Tintern Abbey, Abergavenny Museum and Castle, Caldicot Castle, Monmouth Castle and Military Museum, and there are some ancient ruins at the Lost City of Trelleck.
Dewstow Gardens & Hidden Grottoes are meant to be absolutely stunning, I’ve not been there myself yet, but my Mum and Aunty have, and they loved it.
A personal favourite walk of mine is the Wye Valley stretch of the Offa’s D**e Path which starts (or ends!) near Chepstow, you will pass Devil’s Pulpit and enjoy the most breathtaking views of Tintern, and Tintern Abbey, If you’re staying at The Old Coach House this is a must do walk, also the Wye Valley Walk passes the front door!
As well as the castle Raglan has a Farm Park, a golf course, and The Big Pit National coal Museum is close by, which is open everyday and free to enter, you need to pre book your underground tour.
And of course there’s all the bike trails, hiking, canoe and kayak hire, and all the activities just across the Wye, in the Forest of Dean!

We’ve been asked by a lot of you about what there is to do in Tintern, and the surrounding area, so I thought I’d do a post with a few recommended ‘must do’s’.
I think it’s only fair to start with Tintern itself, so here are a few things to do and see in Tintern.
Literally a stones throw from The Coach House is Parva Farm Vineyard, Tintern, Monmouthshire where there is a shop, but also I believe you can do vineyard tours in season, there is also Parva Farmhouse restaurant which has the most gorgeous menu, and is on the doorstep!
Just a little further is Kingstone Brewery which I’m looking forward to visiting once dry January is a distant memory!
A few minutes walk from the house into Tintern you’ll find Abbey Mill Tintern which is a family run independent art and craft centre with a restaurant and coffee shop, you’ll find an array of interesting shops, all in beautiful surroundings.
There are several great pubs and restaurants to choose from, some are dog friendly too, and of course the breathtaking Tintern Abbey!
There are many stunning walks from Tintern, including the Wye Valley walk, and the Offas D**e path, and for those of you who have watched ‘sex education’ you can walk over the bridge to England that you see in the set, and some of the Offas D**e paths are also in the series! Fun fact!
There’s so much more to see and do all within ten miles of Tintern, I’ll save that for next time, enjoy your weekend.

We're on the map! Zoom in and see if you can find The Coach House! It's next to Tintern Old Rectory B&B .
This informative map is near Saint Michael's Church, just opposite the Wye Valley Hotel, Tintern and next to Parva Farmhouse Tintern .
The weather was stunning on Saturday so we had a little explore around the old railway line, a small stretch of the Wye valley walk, over the bridge to Brockweir, and finally back down through the Offas D**e path back down into Tintern.

Welcome to the Old Coach House in Tintern.

The coach house is a two bedroomed dog friendly cottage that sleeps five. there is one double bedroom, and one family bedroom with a double bed and one single bed.
