I thought ‘I’d love a sea salt and caramel tub’ - so I did!! No regrets at all! Always delicious!! Well I did have to pass Jade’s (sort of 🙃) to get to St Peter’s to get supplies for our next guests!! Any excuse!!

Loving my new door mat(s) bought for me by Andrea Goforth - thank you! And another by Dave Short! Great minds! Last week I had none and now I have 2 - one in each flat! How lucky am I!!

Going to be a busy summer - BUT I HAVE HAD A CANCELLATION and I HAVE OPENED UP ANOTHER SET OF DATES AS FOLLOWS: 11 - 14 July (discounted rate as we are having the outside of the house painted during that time but it shouldn’t affect any guests). And 25 - 28 July. PM me for details! Gill xx

Great Grub Fest comes to Cleethorpes this summer

A brand new food event will be coming to Cleethorpes this summer to showcase the best food and entertainment in our area.

Created by Original Emporium and Grimsby & Clee Eats, the Great Grub fest will showcase over 35 different vendors and entertainers from across North East Lincolnshire.

Taking place down Cleethorpes Promenade on July 22 and 23, locals will have the chance to enjoy delicious food, mouth-watering drinks and incredible live entertainment.

Announcing the festival, Original Emporium said: "Join us on the 22nd & 23rd of July as we line up the best of the best in North East Lincolnshire Food stalls accompanied by Local Artists & Makers!

"Stalls will fill the Lower Kingsway area of Cleethorpes promenade right up to the leisure centre, we’ll have entertainment up and down the prom including local performers and all your favourite local musicians!

"We’re supporting ONLY North East Lincolnshire businesses. Showcasing the pure talent oozing out of our lovely area, whilst feeding the tums of northerners far and wide.

"This is going to be your LOCAL festival and we can’t wait to bring you what will be one of the best weekends of the year!"

🚂 SUMMER STEAM - PROFILE: 'THE BUG' 🚂

Not long now folks until the return of our event for steam enthusiasts of all ages! 😎

Taking place on the 16th and 17th of July, we are delighted to welcome back to Cleethorpes for the first time since 2008, 'The Bug'! 🐞🏖

Built by Krauss of Munich, Germany in 1926, this 0-4-0 tender locomotive was ordered to assist in the construction of the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. 🇩🇪🛠

Once the line was completed, she was sold on and led an eventful life, before being saved from scrap by Sir William McAlpine in 1972 for use once again on the Romney. 🛤

They do a fantastic job- let’s help them continue. ⚓️⚓️

We were launched this evening to three teenagers who were being blown out to sea on paddleboards. In the minutes between their parents' 999 call and our arrival, the wind and tide had taken them nearly a mile.

We found them and returned them safely to shore. This rescue, like all our others, was made possible by your donations.
