We have a few nice rivers only a drive away. Great days out for kids to swim, fish and play whilst the parents relax on grass field. 🐠🏊🌞
We went to the river next to Brungerley bridge there is also Brungerley park just across the road. Amelia loves it and phil likes to kayak on there as it has a long stretch of level water. πŸ›ΆπŸŽ£πŸŠ

Beautiful, circular scenic walk around Stocks Reservoir, on the edge of Gisburn Forest,
Location: Stocks Reservoir, Lancashire
Difficulty: moderately challenging route.
It takes an average of 2 h 56 min to complete me and Phil did it in 2h 7 min.
This ramble offers a little bit of everything; old ruins, wildlife and stunning views overlooking the reservoir throughout. Less than 10 minutes drive from Acre Hill.

We did it a couple of weeks back and really enjoyed it Pictures taken by us. 🚢🚢

2024 is The Gruffalo’s 25th birthday year and to celebrate, everyone is invited to take part in a brand-new forest adventure.
What to expect
The interactive family trail features all sorts of party-themed activities and games, along with fun facts to teach you about life in the forest for the Gruffalo and other creatures.

Follow the trail to help find the missing party items to give the Gruffalo a birthday to remember. Search for balloons, pine cones, apples and the Gruffalo himself, and complete fun activities and rubbings as you go along.

This trail is through the forest and unfortunately isn't accessible for wheelchair users or pram friendly.
