In the early 90s, when most of my friends were still living at home with their parents, I decided on a different path and hitched a lift to London. After two years of hocking my student portfolio around, the wind changed and I was offered the opportunity to work in one of the biggest advertising agencies in the world: Saatchi & Saatchi. Over the next two decades I hopped from one agency to another
and gained invaluable experience writing and producing campaigns for brands like Toyota, Pampers, IKEA and the NHS. Along the way, my creativity was recognised and I received many awards including: Scottish Advertising Awards, Roses Awards, New York Festivals, Campaign Direct, Aerial Radio Advertising Awards, IPA Best of Health, Royal Television Society, Chip Shop Awards, Fresh Awards and more. In mid 2013, I wandered into a place that I had always wanted to explore, and set up Attic Creative, a freelance creative copywriting business. I made a desk out of MDF (ok my brother who is a joiner did), rescued an office chair from a junk shop and took up squatters' rights in the attic of my house. I currently work direct for clients, collaborate with some great designers and art directors and I’m also hired by lots of amazing design, advertising and digital agencies. So if you’re looking for someone to tell the world about your brand our paths might cross. And who knows where that might lead. Creative Director. Attic Creative.
