A brilliant community effort, well done everyone who helped to organise, and of course all the crazy runners!

Hold onto your hats, this a long one!

In no particular order, we're immensely grateful to the following organisations and individuals for this year's spectacular fell race, as well as everyone who came out on the day and helped cheer on the runners and celebrate at the dance:

Joseph Holland who started the race for us, Sofie Fletcher for organising the kids races, Lussa Gin, Jura Whisky (especially Kirsty), Spirited Soaps, Deer Island Rum, Konrad Borkowski, Islay Ales, The Adventure Patch Company, N***t shoes, Pete Bland Sports, Niamh at the Jura Hotel, the team of Pipers, Fiona Walton and her team of helpers for the runners food, Catherine McCallum and her team of helpers for the Fell Race Cafe in the hall, Westerlands Cross Country Club and all the amazing hill and start/finish area marshals, Arrochar and Oban Mountain Rescue teams, Glasgow and Clyde Raynet, Martin Stone, Ross and Grant Rozga, Marco Mussilo for some cracking photos, Bryan Troughton and Paul Philips for their generous donations and especially Gemma MacLean.

Starting off the New Year in style!

20 years ago today I first brought Sarah to Jura. The weather was rubbish, we had a power cut for about three days, the shop was sold out of coal, and the pub was shut for Hogmanay.

We cooked Garlic Bread and Sausages on a disposable BBQ in this fire (pic 1) which filled the whole house with smoke and we had to open all the windows and doors making the house even colder.

Somehow Sarah still fell in love with Jura, and has never looked back. After serious renovations (pic 2), tonight we had our first proper meal in the renewed Lorne Cottage!
