Rowing and Sailing are at the very core of Dartmouth Regatta week, incorporating the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. It is all about the river and the sea. The competition is fierce and the fun is full on against the magnificent, scenic backdrop that is the South Hams.

⭐️4 Amazing Facts You Need To Know ⭐️

🚩Fact 1
Dartmouth Regatta is a whole week of entertainment and is free to attend. It costs over £180,000 each year to stage and we rely entirely on sponsors, traders and public donations.

🚩Fact 2
There are over 250 sailing yachts entered for the racing in Start Bay. There are over 300 races and events during Regatta week including 50 rowing heats and races with around 600 competitors.

🚩Fact 3
It’s not just sailing! The Regatta Tennis Tournament use 864 tennis balls during the week long tournament. The Regatta road races take place over a gruelling and very hilly 5.1 mile course.

🚩Fact 4
The Regatta committee is entirely made up of volunteers who dedicate their time for free. They have to have at least 6 volunteers just to keep the Crabbing competition in order!

Dartmouth Food Festival….. having grown from humble beginnings in 2004 into a first class feast of entertainment featuring workshops, seminars, tastings, competitions, demonstrations and over 100 hand-picked exhibitors (many of which are from Devon), they aim to be truly the very best that the South West has to offer.

Described in The Telegraph as a ‘heady mix of celebrity chefs, parties, food markets, tasting shacks and demonstrations’, the festival is now a landmark event on the culinary calendar.
