If you are new to cycling or have young children that are just learning, The Helix Park offers a safe cycling space for all, and with an on-site café for ice cream, what could better? Don’t forget to do a wee burl round our magnificent Kelpies - Baron and Duke. They are always happy to pose for a family selfie.
Looking to get back to nature by pedal power? There are many cycle paths in our parks and estates too. Callendar Park, Kinneil Estate, Muiravonside Country Park, Bo’ness Nature Reserve and Zetland Park all offer safe and family friendly cycling trails.

The UCI Elite Men’s road race flew through Falkirk on Sunday, watched by an enthralled crowd from
The crowds cheered them on as they flew through the town, sounding like a swarm of locusts, in a blur of colourful bikes and helmets.
Racing through the town centre at an impressive 35 miles per hour, the crowds cheered them on as they continued on their way to finish the gruelling 271Km race.
Were you there too? Why not take some inspiration from this and get on your bike.
You don’t need to go 271km on your first outing. How about a nice gentle ride round Callendar Park with a pitstop in the café for a treat?
Or a leisurely cycle round the Helix Park and visit Baron and Duke, our magnificent Kelpies, they are always happy to pose for a selfie!

Elite Men’s cycle road race will be racing through Falkirk on Sunday 6th August.
The UCI Cycling World Championships are coming to Glasgow from the 3rd to 13th August 2023 and the men’s elite road race will be travelling through Falkirk on Sunday 6th August as part of their 271.1km long journey! Put the date in your diary and get out there to cheer them on their way.
Get on your bike and see Falkirk from your handlebars – the perfect vantage point to experience our wonderful parks and country estates. A great way to enjoy the outdoors, get back to nature and feel the sun (or rain) on your face.
Also on offer is the largest immersive cycling studio in Scotland! An exciting new virtual cycling experience that uses the latest technology to take riders of all abilities on a fully immersive indoor sensory adventure. In a cinema-scale experience, the 3.1m tall screen at Grangemouth showcases digitally created worlds and immersive sound that customers can cycle through, so you can enjoy the scenery without getting wet!

Right place at the right time as Scotdrone captured these incredible scenes this morning where a whale was spotted swimming in the lower basin of The Falkirk Wheel!
Thankfully, Scottish Canals staff quickly responded to coax the whale out through the lower lock to the Forth and Clyde canal and assisted it on it's journey through to the open waters of the Firth of Forth.
Local SSPCA officer, Joseph Kerr, who attended the scene, advised that locally there seems to be a poor silly fad recently for exotic animals kept as pets and the animal was likely released into the canal somewhere between Bonnybridge and Camelon from a private collection.
