New fences have been added to make it even more secure.

Broughty Castle 📸 places to visit when you come and stay in our cottage 😍

Broughty Castle was erected in 1490 by the 2nd Lord Gray, on a charter from James IV, in response to increased English naval activity. It was taken without a shot fired by the English in 1547, and reclaimed by the Scots two and a half years later. The castle fell back into English hands in 1651.

In 1860 the threat of French invasion prompted Broughty’s conversion from a ruin to a modern artillery defence. The castle was further altered in response to the German threat in the two world wars.

A 2 Bedroom Self Catering Cottage at Roundyhill in the Beautiful Strathmore Valley in Angus, Scotland.
The Cottage is a detached annex of Burnside House and offers off street parking for 2 cars. It has its own front door with disabled access and an enclosed secure garden to the rear with beautiful views over Strathmore and towards Sidlaw Hills.
The lovely warm and comfortable accommodation is on two levels, the lower level is the lounge with gas fire and dining area, kitchen with modern appliances, 1 double bedroom, hallway and bathroom with disabled shower facilities. The upper level has 1 twin bedroom (2 single beds which can be changed into a Super King if required). Upstairs bedroom can also accommodate a travel cot. Outside there is a small rear terrace where you can sit, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside and enjoy a BBQ.
2 well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Garden Cottage is ideal for those wanting to explore Dundee, Angus, Fife and further afield, for sightseeing, all sporting activities, attending events in the area, visiting family and friends or just to relax.
There are many Dog Friendly places to walk, visit and eat locally and up to date information can be found in the cottage’s Information Folder.
