That’s another Saturday cleaning wrap! The weather is not always perfect but the views are. Saturday low clouds and when they burn off incredible drama again in the sky, the landscape looks different again. What do you think of this view? I’m of course very partial to it! 🤣😍😍👍😜

Atmospheric drama in the sky over Ardrhu. A special place where you turn from Mountain View’s on one side to sea views to the other. Even when cleaning and maintaining the cottage we do enjoy the views. Occasionally, we stay here ourselves, so we have high standards when it comes to comfort and think our guests appreciate it.

I always wonder how to keep a side interesting for followers! It doesn’t come naturally to me! 😁 recently I hiked up a couple of Munro’s, Stob Ban and Mullach nan Coirean from Glen Nevis. There… a happy photo of me too! Fantastic views! I thought you might like to see some pretty photos from the hills around Ardrhu! 😁👍

We are looking forward welcoming visitors back to Driftwood and Beachcomber Cottage in Onich from 26th April 2021.

The season is upon us! This looks great fun on a Sunday before Christmas! .... and just a short drive from our Ardrhu cottages! 😃

Still around 50 tickets left for sledging tomorrow (picture from last weekend). Weather is for a moderate SE wind and light snow in the morning becoming heavy in the afternoon. Likely to be raining at car park level but snowing at the sledging area so please wrap up warm and waterproof if visiting. First Chairlift is 9am and last uplift is 3.15pm. However if you want to go sledging we would suggest 2pm is latest you should be thinking about arriving. Please check Scot Gov travel guidance before buying tickets and traveling. Another fantastic day at the west coast here! A couple of photos with views from Ardrhu and then a few more from my way down to Oban. It is totally breathtaking here, never get tired of it! I just wished I was on holiday here! 😃 ... running errands... needing more paint.... remote location.... long way for diy stuff! 😬😬... not complaining with views like these! 😃👍😘

Creise and Meall a'Bhuiridh from the Ski centre in Glen Coe.

What a fun walk to do, particularly when you can use the ski lift to get you up to over 600m first. The walk is a combination of grassy slopes, rocky fields and boulders, with some grade 1 scrambling! Fantastic views all around. I think one of my favourite walks, must be repeated.
We are so lucky to have this all on our doorsteps! So good for the soul! 😃❤️

Had the privilege walking the “Ring of Steall” in Glen Nevis with a group of friends. It is a very long and strenuous day out. However, it was utterly breathtaking and fun. The views are the best I have seen. Little pleasures in life when one has a minute.... 😃👍⛰⛰🥾🥾

Covid 19 has spoiled the holiday for many people this year. We at Highlands-Ardrhu can only try to make your future visits as delightful as possible. Why not have a look at our Driftwood Cottage and Beachcomber Cottage in Onich (using Airbnb or HomeAway) for your next vacation! Please feel free to ask questions and contact me here if you prefer.
We will do everything possible to make sure that the place is not only clean but also all hard surfaces will be disinfected between visitors. So if you fancy a wee holiday in the highlands between Glen Coe and the Nevis range do consider our place.

Stob Ghabhar and Stob a'Choire Odhair of the Black Mountains next to Rannoch Moor in the southern highlands was the destination yesterday. A fantastic walk in fantastic weather with magnificent views. A walk for more experienced hikers but worth the 10 hour day out, of course with lots of breaks to admire the views! Yesterday we must have had at least 20 C on the hilltops with a gentle breeze. I was lucky to be out and about.

One of the most favourite walks of everyone in Glencoe must be the lost valley. It’s only a short car journey from Highlands-Ardrhu Holiday cottages. It’s a couple of hours walk in total and it’s an interesting and not very hard walk to do.... but so beautiful!

A train ride from Fort William to the remote place of Corrour is a great adventure. Arrive at the station and you may want to stay a while in the restaurant/ coffee shop directly next to the station. Also a fantastic starting point to climb Munro’s like Beinn na Lap or Carn Dearg. Or stay on the train until Rannoch and walk through the wilderness back on a path to Corrour and stop in the restaurant before you take the train back. Today it was my turn to have the adventure of climbing Carn Dearg. A fierce wind tried to hold us back.... but we made it!

A recent hike up to Beinn Challuim near Tyndrum with friends started my hiking season this year. It is a Munro and yes it is steady uphill but it is technically an easy one with no scrambling or scary parts of it. So if you fancy an easy but long hike out, this is perfect. We took our time and had loads of breaks and food and admiring the views. A really good experience with a sense of achievement and fantastic views.

A lovely place for a wonderful walk and island exploration. Completing it with a visit to the tea garden & bunkhouse.

There are baby goats awaiting your visit to Kerrera. And we'll have plenty of soup, stovies and cake as well! We open this Friday, 5th of April!

An hour south of Onich Ardrhu is my home village of Taynuilt. A beautiful place for an easy walk. Up Glen Lonan, Balindore and back via Airds Bay. Fantastic morning.
