Another bank holiday has been and gone, and with it came some glorious sunshine and some tremendous showers but it didn't dampen the holiday vibes πβοΈ
Thank you as always to everyone who joined us, we hope you had a great break away.
However, we would like to also take a moment to go over a few essential 'house keeping rules'.
- I'm sure many have noticed, and used the new fenced off area, which was previously our tent field. We are happy to see people using it, along with their dogs, however over the holiday there has been alot of dog faeces left behind. If you are caught short, there will be dog poo bags left in the laundry room for your convenience.
- Worryingly, it is becoming more frequent to find young unsupervised children in the farm yard further up the track. Both in buildings with livestock and climbing on machinery, a working farm yard is not a playground and we can't stress enough the worry and stress this is causing. Children are the responsibility of their parent/guardian during their stay here and should be supervised at all times.
- Animals, many of our visitors are returning ones which we pride ourselves on and with this we believe they enjoy the sound of the sheep, cows, chickens and songbirds as much as we do.
For new visitors though, our site is situated between 2 working farms, this means there are often noises we can't control and even smells when the wind takes the smell from slurry spreading our direction.
There's even been times the odd sheep pops on, but that just means a free show of farmer Will and one of the resident farm dogs walking them back to their correct field π¨βπΎπ
- Reserved spaces, we do not offer reserved pitches for many reasons, and this has always worked for us. We do however try our best to accommodate group bookings to be pitched together - just mention this during booking.
We look forward to sharing the summer 2024 season with our regulars and welcoming new faces too.
Love, All at Gibsons Barn. X
