Today we finally recovered control of our Facebook account!
Earlier this year our Instagram and Facebook accounts were compromised. The hacker removed our admin privileges and inserted several other accounts that had full control. They then posted, let's just call it "bad content", and adverts which got charged against my personal credit card and PayPal accounts. Virgin Money immediately blocked and replaced my card. PayPal on the other hand still refuse to recognise that this was fraud. I’ve since removed all my accounts and linked card details but they are still seeking payment. Hopefully Meta (Facebook) will now raise a credit note to clear the disputed sums.
It is seriously challenging to recover a seized page despite me having two factor authentication etc in place but I’m pleased to report that I finally got the help needed and I think we are back in control.
