Three gorgeous days in Rockwood

2024 dates are now booking for Rockwood set in a beautiful area of South Lakes with a gentle stream. Woodland and Whitbarrow Scar as a backdrop.

Last year we were fully booked from Easter to September and every school holiday. Don’t leave it too late if you have a large group of family or friends.

Glorious sunshine at Beck Head today… the stream is at the bottom of our drive and the sheep are just around the corner. Great for families and groups. The children love seeing the dairy farm cows meandering along the lane at milking time. Such a diverse landscape, with fells, streams and rivers and a wide variety of birds and small woodland animals. Sitting central to three different nature reserves yet tucked away and so quiet and private.

In a beautiful and very peaceful location just 10 mins from Lake Windermere, Rockwood is the ideal cottage for large groups, multigenerational families or just a group of friends who each want their own room and bathroom. Did you know that self-catered properties, furnished holiday lets, airbnb, etc have a responsibility to meet the Fire Safety Act and Building Safety Acts - basically all health and safety must be considered. If they don't, they are not safe and not insured.

Rockwood meets these requirements with integrated smoke alarms in every room, fire doors, emergency night lighting, HETAS certified woodburner, extinguishers, fire blankets, clear exit routes, etc. We have a full fire risk assessment and check of equipment every year, chimney's swept every year and we do not permit smoking, va**ng inside or charging and no candles to be brought into the house. Emergency lighting/torches and wind up lanterns are provided for any power cuts.

Make sure wherever you book that you and your family are safe.
